Very recently I resigned from my full-time job of 18 years in order to pursue my ‘retirement career’ of Reflexology full -time. It was a difficult decision because we as humans dislike change, but it was time to make that change. I worked 7 days a week for 2 years (with the odd day off); using my days off and times between to work in clients for my Reflexology business. I really had to manage my schedules well during this time, and believe me it wasn’t always easy.
Also, It’s both exciting and scary at the same time. I did the ‘what if’ scenario, but finally came back to the whole ‘trust myself’ thing, and that felt right. I had told family, friends, co-workers and clients about my ideas and all I got was positive affirmations from them. And I can live with that. A co-worker gave me a book on my last day, Debbie Travis ‘Design Your Next Chapter – How To Realize Your Dreams and Reinvent Your Life’. I am halfway through it and wow, is it powerful! So far, I know I am on track.
Summer Closing

The gardens are coming to their end and most of the veggies are picked. We had quite the haul that we were able to share with some local seniors apartments. I had finished up with one client and before they had left, my husband had come home and asked if anyone they knew could use some veggies. They mentioned there was a community table in their apartment and that a lot of the seniors could use them. So we loaded up my clients trunk full of onions, garlic, kale, beets, cucumbers, turnip, tomatoes and potatoes. The residents were ecstatic I was told (insert a little happy dance here)!
So, with the rest that we had ourselves, we canned up soups and stews (stews with meat in it we freeze because we don’t know much about pressure cooking, and frankly it kind of scares me, but one day perhaps I will research it more). Some of the tomatoes I froze when we didn’t have time to can them up. So now our pantry and freezer is chock full of awesome food for the winter. And we shall share more with family and friends over the course of autumn.
And We Can’t Forget Back To School
Now is the perfect moment to book some relaxing time for yourself after a fun in the sun, whirlwind, gotta get clothes, haircuts, school supplies ready for back to school, where has the time gone kind of summer! Yes, all for you. No interruptions, getting your body back into it’s normal state of relaxation. So easy, just give me a call or send an email. I will do my best to book you in at a convenient time for you. For September my hours are:
Tuesday: 6pm – 8pm (last booking)
Thursday: 8am-12pm and 5pm – 8pm (last booking)
Saturday: 5pm – 8pm (last booking)
Sunday: 8am – 12 pm and 5pm -8pm (last booking)
Almost Pumpkin Spice Time…
But not quite. I want to savour the remaining time of summer and enjoy it a little longer. As I am writing this it is +30 degrees celsius out! Unheard of for the month of September here in Ontario.
Soon I will be working on some scrubs that will smooth those hard working gardening hands and feet and make them all silky feeling. One of my dreams is to make my own lotions and potions that include all natural ingredients, oops, did I write that out loud??
So, do enjoy the last bit of summer while the weather is still nice and warm! Cause you know the cold winds will blow soon enough!
Stone of The Month

How fitting is this stone for me this month. this stone also banishes fears and insecurities. I am all in, onward and upward!
Enjoy!
