New Year, New YOU!

Happy 2024!

Did you find that 2023 just flew by? Yup, same here. I’m looking back at all the changes that happened in my life, the new things that I have done and marveling at what I have accomplished, whether it was big or small. It is interesting that when I was going through my career change earlier last year, as I was scrolling through social media, I found that a lot of the different posts that came up was pushing me towards my big change, giving me the thumbs up, giving me words of encouragement, that yes, it might be scary, yes, it might be hard, but yes, I could do it. I’m not sure what that is called, serendipity maybe? Even friends, family and co-workers were behind me being supportive of my giant step.

This year I look forward to pursuing more options, discovering more passions and being open to more ideas. What are your dreams or passions that you would like to pursue? I would love to hear them! The power of getting things done and following through is to write them down. Like a vision board. I have done a couple vision boards, some with just writing, starting with myself in the middle and writing down all around ‘me’ my dreams and wishes and ideas that I may have sort of like the spoke on a wheel. Things will begin to take off with be many tangents and soon the page will be full of ideas that you can add to and really get quite specific with. Just keep creating, exploring, even writing down things that you have always wanted to do but don’t think will ever happen.

Another type of vision board is by using pictures. Getting many images from magazines, you can get quite creative with this one and it can become a personal collage. I enjoyed this one as well because you don’t have to think of words, but can add them in order to define what it is you want specifically.

I do still have my visual and written vision boards and I take them out the odd time to see if I am on track, find out what has changed, to see if something didn’t pan out, to see where a tangent has taken me and even to add to it, or if there is something that I put down that I had forgotten about. It is quite interesting and makes me work on where I want to head in life.

What is cocooning time? That time of the year when all the excitement of the holidays is over and you just need some de-stressing ‘me’ time. Grab a good book and curl up, do some meditation in the morning, go for a walk, write, work on making a good healthy meal with lots of veggies and some protein to help keep the energy up. Don’t forget to listen to some good music, try something new or try out a new hobby.

Things you choose to do shouldn’t break the bank, but should add variety to the things that you already do; or those things that you don’t get around to nearly enough. What do you want to work on during your cocooning time? Let me know, would love to hear your ideas!

I will be busy working on some new ideas for the coming months that will be fun and inspiring. So stay tuned!

Until next time,

Sandra
