April Happiness!

Were you able to catch a view of the total solar eclipse? My husband and I watched it in our backyard. The weather was very cloudy up until a couple minutes before and I didn’t think we’d be able to see it, but luckily the clouds parted and we got our chance. It was very surreal to say the least. It seemed like there were stadium lights on the neighbourhood, yet the sky darkened all around with a weird mauvish light. We didn’t get the same darkness that they had in Niagara though. Once it was over I began to plant my pansies out front to brighten up the house. I figured it’s a good time to start the spring renewal (but not raking for another week as the pollinators are still in the midst of waking up from their winter slumber). All windows in the house got opened for the annual ‘spring dust’ to get rid of stagnant air and energy.

I was able to get in for a massage the other day. Thought I was fine…I was not fine. I didn’t realize how stuck in some places I was. Until my massage therapist started working on me. Yikes! So I am booking in for preventative maintenance now. Sometimes you just don’t know/realize how out of sync you are until you get a little TLC (I can bend over to tie my shoes now without grunting and groaning and thinking I was getting too old). Now I just have to do some stretches and exercises to help me maintain until my next treatment! p.s. it is always a great idea to do the stretches/exercises your therapist gives you to do, they really will help you in the long run.

Some people might say it’s too early, but it isn’t for some things. Pansies don’t mind the cold, in fact, they prefer it, and can handle a light frost. But if it’s going to drop drastically in temperature, be sure to cover them or bring any pots inside or put in a shed. Peas also don’t mind the cold, they can even handle a bit of snow (ours were planted April 1st). Onions and garlic are pretty much good to go as well. If you are not sure, do some succession planting (space your planting over a few days or weeks). And before you get into the heavy duty planting, start with a few warmup stretches to keep those legs, arms and back in tip top shape so that they aren’t getting strained too much.

Have you just moved into a new home and something just doesn’t feel right? It could be the previous owners energy being left behind. Yup, it’s a thing. Have you ever walked into a room where there has been an argument or tension between two or more people? You get that feeling that something is wrong and it doesn’t feel really great to be in that space at the moment. You can try cleansing the energy by using sound (singing bowl, bells, or anything that will dissipate the negative energy), incense, or cleansing smoking/smudge bundle. It’s best if you can open a window and let the energy flow out. I cleanse my treatment room after each client using tingsha cymbals to dissipate any negative energies that may have been brought in. Did you know that I make my own cleansing bundles using plants from my own garden? In my garden, nothing at all is sprayed! No chemicals here.

I have some new Roller Ball Remedies this year. These little bottles are great for travel, hiking, or to just throw in your purse in case something (like a headache) pops up.

They are only $7 for a 10 mL glass roller bottle with a metal roller ball. I can make up just about any kind you can think of. I can also adjust any oils that you may have sensitivity to. Just send me an email or call/text 226-755-0540 with your request.

I also have an all natural bug repellent in a spray bottle for $10 made with 100% essential oils. Or I can make it up in a lotion form as well.
