Can’t complain this year, the weather has been pretty good. Heading into sweater weather can’t get much better in south western Ontario. Have done most of our canning, but anything we didn’t get to went into the freezer for another day until we get around to doing more soups and stews.
I am now prepping the house (meaning cleaning) for Thanksgiving weekend when family comes, so getting rid of a lot of stuff that has accumulated over the summer. I am really trying hard to get rid of a lot of things, but it isn’t always easy. I must be gentle on myself (ok, but not too gentle or nothing will get done). So, I am trying to break it down into rooms, and then sections, and try not to get distracted. That happened the other day, moved one thing to where it was supposed to go, then the spot where it was supposed to go needed a little cleaning, went to get a damp rag, oh, the dishes need doing, out of dish soap, down to the basement to get more, ack! dehumidifier needs emptying. Well, you get the picture. Has this ever happened to you? Just curious.

Sweater Weather is Here!

Cool nights have arrived, but it’s nice for sleeping for now. I haven’t turned on the furnace yet, just added a heavier blanket on the bed. Now I need to change summer wardrobe into fall/winter wardrobe. Must get rid of some of the summer clothes that have gotten too small (hate when they shrink like that!). Gotta make some room in the closet for the thicker clothes. And do a bit of sewing of my wool socks. Or I can just order a couple pairs from @solebration on Instagram. Tammy’s socks are amazing and she whips them up on a hand-crank antique knitting machine! I have had many of my pairs for well over 5 years, and still have my first pair. I have to admit, I am hard on them. They have gone hiking in Newfoundland, camping to Northern Ontario, and got worn daily when I had a full-time-on-your-feet-all-day job.
With Cool Weather Comes Dry Digits
This fall I am making up new small batches starting with Chai Spice Scrub. This scrub can be used on knees, elbows and feet. I will be making a gentler one for hands that is not quite so rough. But it smells amazing!
Also coming will be an assortment of bath salts, shower steamers, lotions and more. For now, these can only be purchased when you come for an appointment or are in town and can pick up, or if you live in town, I can deliver.
I enjoy making these small batch items, as they are good for you with no chemicals or ingredients that you can’t pronounce. They are a true labour of love. Let me know if there is anything that you would like to see handmade and I will look into it.
Holidays Are Just Around the Corner!

Things will be ramping up very soon! If you are an early shopper, don’t forget that I have Gift Certificates for all the special people on your list! They can be purchased in dollar amount or by a specific treatment. Always a great choice!
Until next time! See you soon! Sandra
