Wow, spring has zipped by quick and summer is approaching fast and furious! Gardens are growing, reflexology appointments have been brisk, and things are hopping. We have gotten our first batch of haskap jam canned and are just waiting for the strawberries in our area to ripen. Then the strawberry rhubarb jam canning will begin. I am looking for some new recipes, maybe add a few herbs in with it, mint perhaps. I may try a lemon thyme jelly this year as well, I made some a few years back at a canning course I took through Doon Heritage Village in Kitchener. It was so very interesting and fun and I learned a lot of different things you can do with herbs from the garden.

New Progress For Reflexology!

I attended my AGM for Registered Reflexology Council of Ontario last month and the guest speakers were Kevin and Barbara Kuntz. Their presentation was proof of concept that reflexology works in real time on patients that have experienced strokes. This is exciting news and I will update this further as I get notes and more facts from the sessions that were done. They also want to explore reflexology on parapalegics and people who have suffered from concussions in the future. Stay tuned! I will update you on their website as well so that you can read their findings.
Hiking In Summer Months

If you choose to hike in summer be on the lookout and protect yourself from ticks. They are becoming quite abundant over recent years and lyme disease is very real and dangerous. Spring and summer are peak tick season. Wear long pants and socks when hiking in the woods and even a thin long sleeve shirt and hat. Protect any exposed skin with preferably a natural bug repellent. Apple cider vinegar mixed with water 1:1 ratio can also be effective, spray onto skin and clothing to help repel ticks. There are a few natural recipes out there, so be sure to check them out. I make up a lotion recipe that has a little neem oil and essential oils in it that we take on our walks. Although we try to stay away from forest walks in summer, mosquitos are the nastiest then. Investing in a mosquito jacket may be a good thing as well. Go to the Ontario Government website:
